Bonspiel Rules: Games are played based on the rules booklet on the United States Curling Association website. Any disputes should first be worked out by skips’ agreement. If an agreement cannot be reached among the skips, then Jennifer Farke or Case Babcock will be the final arbiters if necessary.
We will not be using the “no-tick” rule, however the Five-stone free guard rule applies.
It’s the winning team’s responsibility to record the game’s result on the master bracket. Scores are not required. Winning teams should also sweep their sheet. Please sweep debris to the backboard.
Game Length: Games will be 8 ends or 2 hours, whichever comes first. A clock will be set for 1 hour and 40 minutes into the draw. At that time, finish the current end and play one more end. Since curling is an honorable sport, we trust that no team would purposely “play slow”.
Tie Games: Games tied after 8 ends or 2 hours will be decided by a single “last stone draw.” Each team will throw one stone at the house, no practice shots. Any member of the team may throw the stone. Other members of that team may sweep. The opposing team may not sweep. Whichever team’s stone is closest to the pin scores one point and wins the game. If neither stone stops inside the house, a different player from each team will throw again. This process continues until there is a winner.
Friday Draw to The Button game: Winning team of each of the 4 draws wins 200 extra Raffle Tickets
At the end of your game on Friday, each team will pick 1 person from your team to throw one stone. There will be NO practice throws for this event. We will measure each single stone thrown and the closest measurements from that draw time, that team will win 200 Raffle tickets!
